These are some sample of the many oil drawings I've been making since 1995 - 2014. The series began when I was studying for a diploma in field archaeology and the prehistory of southern England.  I found the process of trying to make a complete picture, of a time and place beyond experience, from a few fragments of bone, soil, stone or clay to be akin to process of creating a new territory with a few marks on a blank page.
